Epic Failure - The Job Market Worsens

Now before anyone accuses me of being a fear monger or for hoping the Democratic administration fails, let me say I wanted Obama to be right. The recession that has gripped our nation, and has spread across the globe, is not partisan. I was incredibly disappointed Obama won the election, but I held out hope that his lofty goals of change would work.

Let's fast forward to the end of the first quarter of 2009 and the end of the first 3 months of Obama's term. Job losses are now at there worst yet. In fact, the 742,000 jobs lost in March are the worst ever since ADP started measuring job losses. From month to month, we have seen progressively worsening job conditions.

Yet we have spent hundreds of billions of dollars on job creation and the economy. Obama said his plan would "save or create some 3 million jobs"... we just lost another 3/4 million.

I'm sure some people will say the night is always darkest before the dawn. You can make the argument that these things take time - and I know they do. But it's frustrating to put your hope into a person who says they'll make it all better, and then watch and conditions deteriorate further.

He can only speak and speak

He can only speak and speak and speak. No action at all for increasing the number of jobs. I am also very disappointed with his poli?y. Even cheap essays can prove my words.

Great point Socialism is

Great point Socialism is Coming.... but perhaps you haven't even discovered the worst of it.

Obama has been pushing his "green" job creation plan for a while now. He wants to create millions of jobs within environmental areas, including the manufacturing of environmental products like wind turbines. But Spain has been going green for a while now, and a new study shows the the "job creation" might not the end result.

According to this study done by the Juan Carlos University in Madrid, every green job created would eliminate 2.2 other jobs. Furthermore, many of the jobs that were created from the governmental subsidies in Spain were temporary jobs like fabrication and installation. Permanent job creation would be limited to administration - perhaps only 1/4 of the jobs created. So for the 3 million jobs Obama wants to create, we could lose 6.6 million to 11 million jobs in the U.S. Woohoo!

Seriously now....I'm all for reducing our greenhouse emissions etc etc, but I don't think creating temporary green jobs justifies the loss of millions of other positions.

Obama's current 2010 budget proposal contains some $20 billion in tax incentives for green initiatives. In Spain, they spent $774,000 to create each green job and they destroyed some 113,000 jobs while doing it.

I think it's time we wrote to our leaders and demanded we put a stop to this. Sure, let's lower emissions and encourage green initiatives, but let's not further destroy our economy and ways of life to do it. Obama openly cites Spain of an example of what we can accomplish.... Can't he see it's an example of how badly things can go?!?!
